July 4: Successful trip back to the States.
July 3: Flight out of London gets cancelled, forcing us to stay a night and eat British Indian food (mmm...)
July 2: Shopping in Istanbul's covered bazaar, and impressive amounts of both eating and drinking.
July 1: Toured the length of the Bosphorus by ferry. June 30: Back to Istanbul. Viewed Modern Art at Istanbul Modern museum. Strolled along the famous pedestrian avenue Istiklal Caddesi. Took in a movie - The Hoax. June 29: Testing out Izmir's bazaar and hamam. June 28: Day trip to Ephesus. June 27: Marketplace shopping in Marmaris, and a bus ride to Izmir. June 26: Off to Marmaris to visit Dustin's friend. June 25: Intended hike from Faralya to Ovacık is short-circuited by heat exhaustion. Much sleeping done in an air-conditioned room. June 24: Drop-off rental car in Fethiye. Begin intended two-day hike along the Lycia Way. Start in village of Alınca walking along the Turquoise coast, and stay overnight at George House in village of Faralya. June 23: All-day river-rafting excursion down the Dalaman river. June 22: On to last stop for the "Rakı Roads" adventure - Fethiye. Paragliding from 1000 meter mountain over picturesque beach of Ölüdeniz. June 21: Sea-kayaking over a sunken ancient Lycia city off from the town of Uçağız. Today: three coats of sunscreen applied, no more damage done. Decide that we must buy hats and long-sleeve shirts. June 20: Finally! A day at the beach and now we're red like lobsters (yes, we had sunscreen on and yes, we're in pain). June 19: Visit ancient Lycian ruins of Myra. Arrive is Kaş. June 18: Rock-climbing near Mt. Olympos. Cool off in the Mediterranean waters. Play some cards in the evening. June 17: On to ancient city of Termessos. Drive to the eternal flame of Çıralı. Stay in a treehouse. June 16: Arrival in Antalya. Negotiated to rent a car (fun!). Went to ancient city of Aspendos to watch the ballet Swan Lake performed in the best preserved Roman theatre in Asia Minor. June 15: Last day in Cappadocia. Overnight bus to Antalya. June 14: Visited ancient rock churches in Ilayra Valley and Güzelyurt, and the monastery at Selime.
June 13: Hike in the valley around Göreme. June 12: Visit the underground city at Derinkuyu, and the Open-Air Museum at Goreme. June 11: Hot-air ballooning over the valleys of Cappadocia.
June 10: Walking the valleys of Cappadocia. June 9: Basilica Cistern and flight to Cappadocia. June 8: Aya Sofya, Tokapı Palace, Galata Tower, Blue Mosque. June 7: Arrival in Istanbul.

I'd be remiss if I didn't post at least one comment. Glad you guys had such a good time and met such nice people and were able to come back home under difficult circumstances (air issues) without killing each other--a true test of friendship and support. Also glad you are able to extend the warmth and excitement of your new relationships across the phone lines. Mom
